PearlArts Studios is accepting applications for passionate teaching artists. These team members will be essential in developing and teaching class choreography as well as maintaining class growth in largely African-American environments in Pittsburgh, PA.

These part and full-time positions offer a competitive salary, including professional development opportunities and free dance company classes. This position is a temporary contractor position that begins as determined by program directors and has the potential to grow into a permanent position in PearlArts Studios extensions for future in-house, after-school or weekend programs.

Job Type: Full-time or part-time positions

Typical Working Hours

  • In-school Program: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-3:30pm

  • After-school Program: Monday to Friday, Varies, One- to two- hour classes per location

  • Weekend Program: Saturday to Sunday, Varies, One- to two- hour classes per location

Work Location

  • In-school Program: 12-week program/trimester, # of trimester varies per school year

  • After-school Program: Varies

  • Weekend Program: Varies.

Responsibilities

  • Arriving at least 30 minutes *before the class starts to prepare.

  • Supporting daily lesson plans which includes, but is not limited to, co-teaching, modeling the instructions, and actively participating in the activities of the day.

  • Attending all in-service and planning meetings

  • Assisting in overall planning of syllabus, and choreography.

  • Reporting weekly to Director of Education

  • Attending all planning meetings as necessary

  • Keeping classes moving and maintaining focus on lesson

  • Classroom management execution

Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Must have dance experience

  • Must have teaching experience

  • Background check

  • Tuberculosis test are required for employment

Benefits:

  • In-school Program: Compensation starting at $17,000 - $18,000/year

PearlArts Studios Extensions (PASe) is committed to providing compelling and comprehensive dance experiences within and beyond the walls of the dance studio through in school and out of school youth dance programming. We offer several programs that can be integrated into schools (in-school & after-school) or organizations. We work to tailor each program to class needs.
