insideTRACK seeks to foster choreographic talent within PearlArts Studios and STAYCEE PEARL dance project & Soy Sos. Through a 2-3 monthlong residency, dancers are given time, space, and mentorship to incubate and develop independent dance works. Each residency culminates with a shared public work-in-progress showing.

LaTrea Derome

LaTrea Derome is a Pittsburgh artist who has worked with the STAYCEE PEARL dance project for the past three seasons. Originally from Cincinnati, LaTrea is a graduate of Point Park University where he obtained his B.A. in Theater Arts while minoring in dance. LaTrea has worked with several theater companies such as The REP, City Theater, Pittsburgh Playwrights and Pittsburgh Musical Theater, where he is also a musical theater jazz dance teacher for the conservatory. He has had the opportunity to work with Anthony Williams (Loving Black), Attack Theatre and The Opera Theater of Pittsburgh.

About the Work-in-Progress

_lostncompleX is an exploration of self discovery and an acknowledgement of being on life's journey while having no real sense of direction. Being open to different experiences that allow for new viewpoints, our idea of who we are on this journey can become a little complex.  Regardless of however skewed or blurred our vision may be, x always marks the spot of our final destination.
